FAQs
Branding
What is brand photography?
First impressions count – and even more so in a busy online world. That’s why brand photography is like your business’ BFF, showing the world who you are, what you do and why you’re brilliant at it. These photos are often the first thing potential clients see, so it’s your chance to stand out from the crowd and show your authentic, true self.
Brand photos give your target audience a sneak peek into your brand. They capture your vibe, your values and the magic that happens behind the scenes. See it this way – they help people get to know you.
But these are so much more than just pretty pictures. They tell your brand story strategically, making it super easy for you to market your business and ensuring your dream clients connect and choose you.
What images will you take?
I’ll take some time to get to know you and your business. We’ll chat about your goals, your brand vibe and how you plan to use the photos, whether it’s for your website, socials or marketing. That way, we’re totally on the same page and can make the most of your shoot.
You’ll get a mix of photos that truly tell your brand story: classic headshots, relaxed portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, action shots of you doing your thing, and even some fun off-duty images as well. It’s all about creating a collection you can use for different needs and platforms – showing off the best in you and your business.
So, how do I get ready for my brand shoot?
Yay! Now the exciting stuff can truly begin. We chat before the shoot to get totally clear on all the details from location, outfits, the vibe and shot list. I’ll also give you a copy of my client guide, which provides suggestions on all these topics and a structured plan of the session so you can be fully prepared.
If it’s your first photoshoot, download my ‘Navigating your First Shoot’ guide (include link here to lead magnet), where I’ve outlined every step of a brand shoot so you know what to expect. And, if you have any questions, let’s chat! I can also recommend make-up artists and stylists if you wish to use those services.
I’m terrible in front of the camera, help!
You’re not alone! Honestly, I don’t like being in front of the camera either, but that’s exactly why I’ve created a Getting Camera Ready guide just for you. It’s packed with practical tips, plus some mindset magic, to help you feel fully prepped and confident before your shoot.
During your shoot, I’ll be with you every step of the way – guiding you into natural flattering poses that feel like you. We’ll review the images as we go so you can see how things are looking and feel good about what we’re creating together.guide you and find poses that suit you and flatter you.
Need some inspiration ahead of your shoot? Feel free to download the 25 Great Poses Guide to get some ideas flowing.
And remember, feeling nervous is totally normal, especially if this is new for you. But once you’ve warmed up, I promise: you’ll start having fun, and you might even love the experience. Brand shoots are all about celebrating you and your business. Many of my clients say they feel super empowered after their shoot.
Where should we have the shoot?
I always recommend that your location reflects your brand. The outdoors works well for many, choosing surroundings that are in line with your brand vision, from the centre of the city to a more nature based setting if that’s in keeping with your brand. We can work in your home/workplace, space and light permitting or use a local coffee shop or place you’re comfortable in. You can book a co-working space or meeting room creating a professional indoor look. And, if you are having a longer shoot, then I recommend using a dedicated shoot house or Airbnb for your shoot.
How long before I receive my images?
Images are available within two weeks. You receive the first cut of your images from which you choose your final images, which are fully edited within a couple of days.
Your images are provided in both high resolution, ideal for print purposes, and web resolution so they can be uploaded to your website
Do you have memberships for existing clients?
Yes! Memberships are available for existing clients at amazing rates – get in touch and become a regular. If we’ve worked together, then the process is so easy and we can get right into it! I’m already familiar with you and your business and you are comfortable with me and completely used to the way that I work.
I put genuine care into every shoot because your story deserves to be told with authenticity.
Here’s how I make sure your photography truly reflects you:
- I get to know your business and your goals.
- I listen to your ideas and bring them to life.
- I created images that connect with your audience.
- We review what worked so you can feel confident going forward.
- We stay in touch as your business grows.

Family
How do I organise a shoot?
Let’s have a chat about the best time for you to have a shoot and what session suits your needs. We can then pin down a date and talk about locations that work for your family.
When is the best time to book a shoot?
I work throughout the week, including weekends so there is a lot of choice available. If you have a young family, choose the optimum time in the day for them ie after a nap and when they are likely to be at their best. I aim to be flexible for newborn shoots as I know it’s difficult to keep to timings in the early days.
Shoot timings are also dictated by the light and I will suggest changes to timings so we can take advantage of the best possible light.
How do I make a booking?
Once we’ve talked it through, so I know what you’re looking for, and decided a date, the booking will be confirmed on receipt of a 50% deposit. The balance is to be paid on the day of the shoot.
What does each package include?
I’m a huge believer that a photograph is only a photograph when it is printed so all of my packages include fine art prints and digital images.
All packages include a pre-shoot chat, a preparation guide and access to a secure online platform to view your images. If you are booking a Newborn shoot, then you receive some prep tips so we can take beautiful images within the comfort of your own home.
When do I get to see my images?
The Essential and Classic galleries are lightly edited and shared with you to select your favourites, and are then fully edited and available in high res format to download.
The Signature package is fully edited and available to download straight away.
Digital images are available to view within 2 weeks.
How many images do I receive?
You will receive around 40-50 images to select from.
Depending on the package you have chosen, you can select what you wish to have as a digital image and what is printed.
Raw images are not available.
What do I wear?
This is one of the most common questions I get asked ….. the detailed prep guide provides guidance on what to wear (and what not to wear).
My advice to all clients is to look your best self, if you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of family, come as that, and if you want to step it up a little, go for it. These images are yours and you get to decide how you want to look.
How I do I prepare my children for the shoot?
If we give kids a little time to warm up, then they are usually happy to play along. My sessions are relaxed and free-flowing so children don’t feel like its a photoshoot. And, if a child is playing up, we simply take a couple of minutes out. Having a couple of boys myself, I’m quite used to being around children full of energy who want to play.
There is additional advice provided in the Preparation Guide, as well as preparing for an in home shoot.
If your children are young, please book your session around their routine.
What about feeling nervous in front of the camera?
It’s perfectly natural to feel apprehensive in front of the camera; the vast majority of us do, probably no one more than me!
As I know how it feels, I always take my time to get to know you as a family and provide encouragement in front of the camera to help you feel relaxed.
We mix up “stand, stare and smile” moments with more playful moments so there are not many opportunities to feel the nerves.
Many parents do feel like the session has been a bonding opportunity and find it enjoyable.
Can I buy more images?
Yes, of course. You are welcome to upgrade your package to one that includes all the images or just select those ones that you love.
Each additional digital print is priced at £35 and I share a range of wall art options with you as well.
Are the images edited?
Images are edited as you can see here. I always take time to give your images that little glow-up but no more as it really matters to me that your images are a genuine reflection of you.

Events
What kinds of events do you photograph?
I cover all sorts of business and holistic events – big and small. From conferences and to networking evenings, workshops, team celebrations and retreats. I also offer headshots sessions for your event attendees, as an additional package. How does your pricing work?
My pricing starts at £195 for the first hour and subsequent hours are charged at £165 – if you need half day/full day event coverage, then this will be a bespoke price.
What’s included when we book you?
You’ll always get a set of professionally edited photos, delivered in an easy-to-use online gallery you can download and share straight away. The files come in both web and high resolution, so they’re ready for both social media and print. I also offer 5-10 highlight images, within 12-24 hours, so you can share these on social media.
When will we get our photos back?
I know you’ll be excited to share them! Most galleries are ready within 7 days, depending on the size of the event. And, I also include a handful of highlights within 12-24 hours if you’d like something quickly for socials or press.
